
Dr. Tara Andresen, ND
Dr. Andresen is a licensed Naturopathic Doctor (ND) practicing in Toronto, Ontario. Prior to graduating from the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine, she held a Bachelor of Arts (BA) from McGill University and a Masters in Business Administration (MBA) from York University. Currently, she is also a member of the Ontario Association of Naturopathic Doctors and the Canadian Association of Naturopathic Doctors.
Dr. Andresen has expertise in treating a wide variety of health conditions, including hormone imbalances, chronic fatigue, fibromyalgia, digestive disorders, heart disesase and hypertension, skin conditions, chronic pain, women's health, infertility, stress management, anxiety and depression, immune systems disorders, blood sugar disregulation, weight management and cold/flu prevention.
Dr. Andresen is committed to following an evidence-based approach to naturopathic medicine and reviews the latest scientific research when developing effective individualized treatment plans for her patients.
ND Credentials
In Canada, Naturopathic Doctors are highly educated primary care providers. To obtain a naturopathic medical credential (ND) that qualifies the recipient to sit for a provincial licensing examination, students must:
- Hold a prerequisite Bachelor’s degree from an accredited University, including required courses in biology, biochemistry, chemistry, organic chemistry and psychology.
- Successfully complete a 4-year-full time program at an accredited school of Naturopathic Medicine (2 schools in Canada, 5 schools in the US) that includes more than 4,500 hours of classroom training and 1,500 hours as a supervised intern.
- Pass NPLEX board exams that are written after the 2nd year and 4th year of study. NPLEX is the standard examination used by all licensing jurisdictions for Naturopathic Doctors in North America.
- Meet the Continuing Medical Education (CME) credits as required by the provincial regulatory boards on an ongoing basis.
