Naturopathic doctors are trained to look deeper into the physical and emotional aspects contributing to weight issues.  Many factors can impair weight loss, including: 

  1. Thyroid Hormone Imbalance – An underactive thyroid gland can slow your metabolism which makes weight loss more difficult.
  2. Digestive Disorders – Impaired digestion can lead to constipation and bloating that contributes to difficulties losing weight.
  3. Stress – Increased mental and/or physical stress increases the production of stress hormones (cortisol, epinephrine).  Excessive stress hormone production results in elevated fat deposition around the abdomen.
  4. Food and Drink Choices – The food and drink choices we make can impair or improve our metabolism.
  5. Emotional Triggers – Many people turn to food or drink for comfort during times of emotional distress. Addressing these triggers is important for long term weight loss.

Dr. Andresen has worked with many people to help them find and treat the root cause behind their weight issues.  She has developed effective individual weight loss plans that address these underlying concerns while reducing cravings and improving post-meal satisfaction. In addition to helping you reach your weight goal, Dr. Andresen will work with you to develop a long term plan for keeping the weight off.

To get you started on taking charge of your weight concerns, we are offering a 14 week weight loss package that includes the following:

  • Five (5) visits with Dr. Andresen, including an initial 90 minute visit (includes physical examination) and 4 follow up visits (30-45 minutes)
  • One (1) Random glucose test, one (1) urinalysis test
  • Five (5) Bio-Impedence Analyzer (BIA) assessments (one per visit) – measures basal metabolic rate, hydration levels, fat mass, lean muscle mass and body mass index.
  • Weekly diet diary check-in by email for 14 weeks.
